Enhancing Texas Woman’s University’s faculty development
resources and reinforcing the link between liberal arts and
the health sciences are the goals of TWU’s new associate
provost, Dr. Victoria McGillin, who began her duties Aug.
1.
“Dr. McGillin
is committed to enriching the faculty experience at TWU,”
Interim Provost Dr. Carolyn Gunning said. “She wants
to ensure that TWU faculty have all the resources necessary
in order to be successful teachers and leaders in their field.”
“Faculty
development is essential in the retention and recruitment
of quality faculty,” Dr. McGillin said. “My goal
is to guide faculty to the many resources available at TWU
and to develop new programs that assist professors in meeting
today’s students’ needs.”
In addition to
faculty development, Dr. McGillin is also committed to linking
together the fields of liberal arts, health sciences and other
areas of study at TWU.
“I believe
the infusion of liberal arts and health science is not only

future healthcare providers, scientists, researchers and other
leaders must be able to effectively communicate with each
other and the world in order to make a difference.”
