TWU hosts third annual Latina Student Leadership Conference

International best-selling author Yasmin Davidds
to serve as keynote speaker

DENTON — The Texas Woman’s University Office of
Intercultural Services will host the Third Annual Latina Student
Leadership Conference from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday,
October 7. International best-selling author Yasmin Davidds
will serve as the keynote speaker for the conference that
takes place at Hubbard Hall located on Administration Drive
and Oakland Avenue on TWU’s Denton campus.
On-site registration is $20 for college students, faculty
and staff, $15 for high school students and $25 for all others.

The Latina Student Leadership Conference is part of TWU’s
Cultural Connections Conference Series. According to TWU Office
of Intercultural Services Director Becky Rodriguez, these
series of intercultural events are dedicated to promoting
leadership, cultural awareness and celebrating diversity within
the community through education, intense and honest dialogue
and networking.
Davidds was recognized as one of the top Leading Latinas by
“Hispanic Magazine” in June 2003. Davidds is CEO
and founder of Empowering Latinas, Inc. and in 2001 wrote
the international best-seller “Empowering Latinas: Breaking
Boundaries, Freeing Lives.” This book and her most recent
work, “The Latinas 7 Principles,” are dedicated
to Latina empowerment.
