KidsDance to feature TWU DanceWorks

11/11/02

DENTON — “KidsDance: Rhythms for Life,” an interactive presentation about modern dance, will be presented to Denton Independent School District second graders at 1 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 19 and 20, in the Margo Jones Performance Hall, located at Oakland Avenue and Pioneer Circle on the Texas Woman's University campus.

The presentation, which features DanceWorks, TWU's repertory dance company, will use discussions, demonstrations and interactive activities to introduce students to five elements of modern dance: individuality; partnering; energy; improvisation; and rhythm.

This presentation also features live music by TWU musicians Keith Fleming, Susan Myatt and Bill Matney.

KidsDance is a joint presentation of the TWU Department of Dance, The Greater Denton Arts Council and the Denton Independent School District. Mary Williford-Shade, TWU associate professor of dance, will direct the presentation.
