TWU Hires Director of Libraries

DENTON — Carolyn Kacena has been appointed director of libraries at Texas Woman's University, effective July 1. She replaces Elizabeth Snapp, who is retiring at the end of May after 33 years of service to TWU.

Ms. Kacena comes to TWU from Texas A&M-Commerce where she has been library director since 1996. In 1991 and 1992 she taught at TWU as an adjunct faculty.

Ms. Kacena holds a master of science degree in computer science from the University of Arizona; a M.S. in library science from the Baxter School of Information and Library Science at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio; and a bachelor of arts in mathematics and library science from the University of Cedar Falls, Iowa.

During the month of June, Marilyn Dunham, assistant director of libraries for collection development, will service as interim director of the TWU libraries.
