lecture scheduled at TWU’s Houston campus

HOUSTON —
Texas Woman’s University’s will present “Competent
and Confident: The Nurse of the Future” Friday, Oct.
21 from 9 a.m. to noon in Room MGJ 724 at TWU’s Houston
campus, 1130 John Freeman Blvd. in the Texas Medical Center.
The event is part of the Distinguished Fall Lecture Series
sponsored by TWU Houston’s Stark College of Nursing
and Theta Tau International, Beta Beta Houston.
The Texas Nurses
Association will offer 3.0 CNE Type 1 contact hours for attending
the lecture. The lecture is free and participants are responsible
for their own parking fees. For more information or to register,

Dr. Michael L.
Evans, vice president for learning for Texas Health Resources,
will lead the presentation, which will highlight the work
of the Texas Nurses Association Competency Task Force as it
has addressed the minimum competencies required of nurses
to make them safe practitioners in the hospital environment
upon graduation.
