Fundraising Symposium Early Registration Continues

DENTON The 17th Annual Southwest Fundraising
Symposium will be Sept. 9-12 on the Denton campus of Texas
Woman's University. The symposium is designed for persons who
have less than two years of fundraising experience.
Registration before Aug. 16 is $395 for Association of
Fundraising Professionals (AFP) members and $495 for non-members.
After Aug. 16, registration is $445 for AFP members and $545 for
non-members. Single room lodging is available for $112 for the
four nights in TWU's dormitories.
Participants completing the entire 24-hour program will be
awarded 2.4 continuing education units.
Symposium topics include: basic principles of fundraising, an
overview of nonprofit planning, fundraising marketing, developing
an annual giving program, developing a direct mail program,
special events programs, solicitation techniques, proposal
writing and prospect research, among others. The symposium
curriculum is written in a sequential style with each topic
building on the previous one.

The Southwest Fundraising Symposium was developed by the Fort
Worth and Dallas chapters of the Association of Fundraising
Professionals, formerly the National Society of Fund Raising
Executives. The symposium is sponsored by the Fort Worth and
Dallas chapters of AFP in coordination with TWU's Office of
Lifelong Learning and with assistance from the Alliance of
Nonprofit Counsel.
