Record number
of friends and family expected for TWU Family Day Oct. 8
10/4/05
DENTON —
A record number of parents, siblings, grandparents, spouses
and children of Texas Woman's University students are expected
to visit the Denton campus Saturday, Oct. 8, for TWU’s
Annual Family Day. About 800 students and their family and
friends are expected to participate.
“We want
to extend a warm welcome to all the parents, families and
guests,” said Jennifer Garrett, Family Day Committee
chair. “We have a full day of activities planned. And
by the time the day is over, we're sure our students' families
will have a better understanding of our pride in TWU.”
The guests will
have an opportunity to visit sites on campus, take a hayride,
paint tote bags, learn Latin, Country Western or Square dancing,
enjoy a picnic lunch, watch armadillo racing, take a trolley
tour of Denton’s downtown square and participate in
TWU’s version of the television game show Family Feud.
Friends and family
of TWU students will pay $25 each to participate. Children
under the age of 12 and TWU students are admitted free when
accompanied by a guest.
