TWU Faculty To Lecture On El Chamizal

DENTON Dr. Maria Eugenia Trillo, assistant professor of
English, speech and foreign languages at Texas Woman's
University, will discuss El Chamizal and the 1848 Treaty of
Guadalupe Hidalgo between the United States and Mexico on Sept.
19 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the seminar room of the Blagg-Huey
Library at Texas Woman's University. The lecture is free and open
to the public.
A photographic exhibit of Trillo's ethnographic research
project, "El Chamizal A Living Memory of Transparent
Boundaries," remains on display in the library's foyer
through Oct. 15.
Also on display in the library's foyer are items collected by
Dr. Hugh Burns, chair of the Department of English, Speech and
Foreign Languages, during his recent trip to Saudi Arabia as a
Fulbright Senior Specialist at the King Abdulaziz and Companions
Foundation for the Gifted in Riyahd.
