A Pathologic Tour of the Oral Cavity is a
clinically-oriented presentation focusing on the more commonly
encountered oral diseases in the practice of dentistry. A
multimedia format will be used to present a variety of oral
lesions that may be detected during an oral examination by any
member of the dental team. The goal of the presentation is to
reacquaint clinicians with oral pathologic conditions and to
update them on current understanding of the nature of these
conditions.
Dr. Weir received his DDS degree from the University of
Tennessee College of Dentistry in 1974. He also earned a juris
doctorate from Loyola University School of Law in 1985. Dr. Weir
is a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial
Pathology and a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and
Maxillofacial Pathology. In addition to his teaching and
administrative duties at the LSU School of Dentistry, he also
serves as director of the Pathology Biopsy Service.
