TWU schedules guitar master class, free concert July 31


DENTON — Guitarist and composer Miguel Romero of the Perpignan (France) Conservatory of Music will join Texas Woman’s University guitar faculty member Carlo Pezzimenti in a master class and a free concert Saturday, July 31 in TWU’s Redbud Theater Complex, located on the north side of historic Hubbard Hall on the Denton campus.

The master class will be conducted from 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is $20 to participate (perform) in the class and $10 to audit the class. To apply for the master class, contact Pezzimenti no later than Friday, July 23 at or (214) 350-8117.

The concert, scheduled at 7:30 p.m. in the Redbud Theater, is free and open to the public, though reservations are recommended due to limited seating. Reservations may be made by calling the TWU Department of Music at (940) 898-2500. The concert will feature works by James Chenevert, Brian Clement-Foreman, Ernesto Garcia de Leon and Miguel Romero. Guitarist Brian Rowe and clarinetist Garry Evans also will perform in the concert.
