DENTON — Texas Woman’s University recently received a $599,863 grant from the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S-STEM) program. The university’s S-STEM program will use the funding to award scholarships to STEM majors at TWU.

TWU Chancellor Ann Stuart to Retire — 11/16/12

DENTON/DALLAS/HOUSTON — Texas Woman’s University Board of Regents Chair Mike McCullough announced today (Friday) that TWU Chancellor and President Ann Stuart has decided to retire from the university. The Regents and Chancellor Stuart have agreed that she will continue to lead the university until her successor is named.

TWU to use $743,036 to educate new children’s librarians — 7/5/12

WASHINGTON, D.C./DENTON — The Texas Woman’s University School of Library and Information Studies is one of 32 library organizations in the nation and one of four in Texas to receive a 2012 Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).

TWU received a $469,999 grant from the IMLS. TWU and its partners – the Texas Library Association (TLA) and the Dallas Public Library - also are matching the grant with $273,037 in funds for a total of $743,036 to establish the Literacy Matters: Educating Librarians to Serve Families with Young Children project.

Junior Adriana Blanco is TWU’s first Hispanic and first, first-generation student regent. She is enrolled in the TWU and University of North Texas dual degree program in engineering and math, majoring in math at TWU and electrical engineering at UNT.

TWU Concert Choir chosen to sing at regional conference — 2/22/12
