HOUSTON – How health care institutions, in collaboration with universities, can create a research environment to improve clinical practice will be the topic of discussion at the Texas Woman's University College of Nursing-Houston Center Fall Research Day. Dr. Nancy Donaldson, clinical professor and director of the Center for Research and Innovation in Patient Care at the University of California-San Francisco, will be the featured speaker.

The program will take place Oct. 22 from 9 a.m. to noon at the TWU campus, 1130 John Freeman Blvd. Admission is free, but registration is required. Three contact hours for nurses completing the program have been applied for through the Texas Nurses Association. To register, call (713) 794-2100 or fax (713) 794-2103.

In addition to Dr. Donaldson's lecture, research posters will be on display and there will be an opportunity for professional networking. Persons who wish to present a poster should contact Dr. Ann Malecha at (713) 794-2725 or by Oct. 15.

This year's event is hosted by the TWU College of Nursing-Houston Center and Sigma Theta Tau International-Beta Beta Houston Chapter, and funded in part by Novartis Pharmaceuticals.
