HOUSTON –
How health care institutions, in collaboration with universities,
can create a research environment to improve clinical practice will
be the topic of discussion at the Texas Woman's University College
of Nursing-Houston Center Fall Research Day. Dr. Nancy Donaldson,
clinical professor and director of the Center for Research and Innovation
in Patient Care at the University of California-San Francisco, will
be the featured speaker.
The program will take
place Oct. 22 from 9 a.m. to noon at the TWU campus, 1130 John Freeman
Blvd. Admission is free, but registration is required. Three contact
hours for nurses completing the program have been applied for through
the Texas Nurses Association. To register, call (713) 794-2100 or
fax (713) 794-2103.
In addition to Dr. Donaldson's
lecture, research posters will be on display and there will be an
opportunity for professional networking. Persons who wish to present
a poster should contact Dr. Ann Malecha at (713) 794-2725 or amalecha@twu.edu
by Oct. 15.
This year's event is
hosted by the TWU College of Nursing-Houston Center and Sigma Theta
Tau International-Beta Beta Houston Chapter, and funded in part
by Novartis Pharmaceuticals.
