Recent TWU alumna is new Deputy Director of Nutrition and Food Service for the Veterans Health Administration
HOUSTON— Texas Woman’s University alumna Anne Utech, Ph.D., RD., has been named the Deputy Director of Nutrition and Food Service for the Veterans Health Administration in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Utech received her Ph.D. in nutrition from the TWU Institute of Health Sciences-Houston Center in 2012 and obtained her master of science in nutrition from TWU’s Houston Center in 2005.
Since 2010, Dr. Utech has served as the health promotion disease prevention manager for the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in the Texas Medical Center, which serves more than 122,000 veterans in Houston and six regional outpatient clinics. She has served as a dietitian at the center since 2004.
Dr. Utetch’s many awards and honors include receiving a 2010 American Dietetic Association Foundation Scholarship, being recognized as the 2011 Young Dietitian of the Year Award from the Houston Area Dietetic Association and receiving the 2010 Outstanding Nutrition Education Award from the Houston Area Dietetic Association.
