TWU nutrition department presents spring Nutrition Seminar Series
DENTON — The Texas Woman’s University Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences will offer a nutrition seminar on Fridays this spring.
The presentations are held from noon to 1 p.m. in room 301 of the Administration Conference Tower (ACT), located on Administration Drive on TWU’s Denton campus. The seminar series, which also is televised on TWU’s Dallas and Houston campuses, is open to the public.
Invited guest speakers for the series include professor Janina R. Galler, M.D., of the Judge Baker Children’s Center at Harvard Medical School, who will speak on “Undernourished Lives: The Barbados Nutrition Study — Documenting the Effects of Childhood Malnutrition from Birth to Middle Adulthood” on Feb. 4; Barbara Shukitt-Hale, Ph.D., of the J. Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Resource Center on Aging at Tufts University, who will speak on “Improving Neuronal and Behavioral Function in Aging by Altering What We Eat” on March 11; and professor Francesco Marotta, M.D., Ph.D., of the Hepato-Gastroenterology Unit at S. Giuseppe Hospital in Milano, Italy, who will speak on “Clinical Options and Applications for Genetic Testing in Modern Nutritional Strategies” on April 29.
Additional presenters include TWU nutrition faculty and TWU nutrition students.
