TWU to host 18th Annual Monster Flute Choir Concert Oct. 25

DENTON — It’s the time of year for goblins, ghouls and a monster of a concert at Texas Woman’s University.

The 18th Annual Monster Flute Choir Concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25 in the Margo Jones Performance Hall, located at Pioneer Circle and Oakland Street on TWU’s Denton campus. Admission is free. Those attending are encouraged to dress in their Halloween costumes. For more information, call (940) 898-2500.

The concert will feature a new work, “Crossing the Bridge,” by British composer Cecilia McDowall, and “Flautista,” a set of Latin dances by Canadian composer John Palmer.

The Monster Flute Choir combines the TWU and Brookhaven College flute choirs, both under the direction of Dr. Pamela Youngblood, TWU professor of music and chair of the TWU Department of Music and Drama.
