TWU's Pape appointed to national nursing committee

DENTON – Dr. Tera Pape, a Texas Woman’s University associate professor of nursing, recently was appointed to serve on the Recommended Practices Committee of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN). Dr. Pape is one of 12 AORN members selected for the committee.

According to AORN, the Recommended Practices Committee contributes to updating and revising the standards of practice for operating room nursing. These standards of practice are published annually and serve to guide those in surgical settings when writing and reviewing policies and procedures for safe patient care.

“The AORN Recommended Practices book has become the gold standard of surgical patient safety throughout the nation,” said Dr. Pape, Ph.D., RN, CNOR. “It is a privilege to join my peers as part of this prestigious committee.”
