TWU's Golden elected to LLAMA office
June 22, 2010 - DENTON — Dr. Janine Golden, assistant professor of library science at Texas Woman’s University, has been elected vice president/president-elect of the Library Leadership and Management Association (LLAMA), a division of the American Library Association.
“I believe LLAMA has an important role to play in recruiting future leaders, ensuring that library education reflects the core values of the profession and retaining a quality library workforce,” she said. “I’m excited to be a part of that effort.”
Dr. Golden was chairperson of the LLAMA Mentoring Committee in 2006-08, and served as a member of the President’s Program Committee during LLAMA’s 50th anniversary in 2006-07. She received a master of education degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1977 and a master of library science degree from Indiana University in 1982. She earned her doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh in 2005.
