TWU announces new associate vice president of enrollment services
DENTON — Gary T. Ray has been named the new Texas Woman’s University associate vice president of enrollment services.
Mr. Ray comes to TWU after working for almost 20 years in senior management at Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn. He most recently served as vice president for administration at Lee.
“Gary has extensive experience, having managed record enrollment growth at Lee for many years,” said Dr. Richard Nicholas, TWU vice president for student life. “He is the ideal person to guide enrollment services at TWU, as we continue to grow and improve services to students.”
During his tenure at Lee, Mr. Ray helped lead the university to 19 consecutive years of record enrollment growth. He also developed specific programs targeting graduate student enrollment and created a preview day at Lee for high school students and potential transfer students.
“I am impressed by the quality of TWU’s students, faculty and staff, as well as the university’s overall commitment to excellence,” Mr. Ray said. “I look forward to working with TWU’s wonderful leadership team to enroll students at greater levels and intensity at the university.”
Mr. Ray received his bachelor’s degree from Lee University and his master’s degree in education from the University of Tennessee. He began his duties at TWU May 12.
Texas Woman’s University occupies a notable position in higher education as the nation’s largest university primarily for women. Eight consecutive years of growth have produced a record enrollment of 13,338 students.
