TWU Drama presents 'Potluck Playfest'
DENTON — The Texas Woman’s University drama program starts off the spring semester with a short play festival.
Once again, TWU Drama will take on the challenge of writing, directing and performing four short plays all within a 24-hour period.
The performance, which is free and open to the public, will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30 in the Redbud Theater Complex, located on the northwest side of historic Hubbard Hall on TWU’s Denton campus. A potluck meal open to the cast, crew and audience will follow in the rehearsal hall. For more information, visit http://www.twu.edu/drama/ or call the TWU Box Office at (940) 898-2020.
Students will gather in the rehearsal hall Friday night and donate one prop and one costume piece that may be used in the shows. The writers will work through the night, giving the directors finished scripts on Saturday morning. The casts then will rehearse until shortly before the production’s opening at 8 p.m.
