TWU's Ishee named president-elect of national organization

DENTON — Dr. Jimmy H. Ishee, dean of the College of Health Sciences at Texas Woman’s University, recently was voted president-elect of the National Association of Kinesiology and Physical Education in Higher Education (NAKPEHE). He will serve as president-elect beginning in January 2011, and will become president of the organization the following year.

Dr. Ishee received the organization’s Distinguished Service award in 2010, and served as NAKPEHE’s vice president from 2005-2007. He also has served as the editor and associate editor of “The Chronicle of Physical Education in Higher Education.”

Dr. Ishee has served as the dean of the TWU College of Health Sciences since 2005.

NAKPEHE is a national organization for professionals in kinesiology and physical education in higher education. Its purpose is to foster leadership in teaching administration, policy, preparation for the professions and scholarship. For more information, visit www.nakpehe.org.
