College of Health Sciences dean lectures at national meeting

DENTON – Dr. Jimmy H. Ishee, dean of the College of
Health Sciences at Texas Woman’s University, delivered
the Dudley Allen Sargent Lecture during the 2009 annual conference
of the National Association for Kinesiology and Physical Education
in Higher Education (NAKPEHE) held Jan. 4-6 in Sarasota, Fla.
The Sargent Lecture
is given annually by a distinguished professional and NAKPEHE
member. It is named for the late Dudley A. Sargent, a Harvard
University professor who was one of the most influential early
leaders in physical education.
Dr. Ishee has served
as the dean of the TWU College of Health Sciences since 2005.
He is serving as the chair of the National Conference for
Academic Deans for 2008-2009 and was the NAKPEHE vice president
from 2005-2007.
NAKPEHE is a national
organization for professionals in kinesiology and physical
education in higher education. Its purpose is to foster leadership
in teaching, administration, policy, preparation for the professions
