TWU’s Bray elected to international honor society board
12/22/09
DENTON — Dr. Kaye Bray, assistant professor of library science at Texas Woman’s University, recently was elected to the Executive Board of the International Beta Phi Mu Honor Society, a library and information studies honor society.
Dr. Bray, who will serve a two-year term on the board, was named to the chapter relations committee, which will assist each Beta Phi Mu chapter with its needs.
“We hope to encourage the promotion of scholarships and strengthen the honor society by developing more of a bond among chapters and the national board,” she said.
Dr. Bray has served as faculty adviser to TWU’s Beta Lambda Chapter of Beta Phi Mu since 2004.
“I look forward to putting my experience on the local level to work at the national level,” she said.
Beta Phi Mu was founded in 1948 by a group of leading librarians and library educators to recognize and encourage scholastic achievement among library and information studies students. More than 35,000 graduates of American Library Association-accredited library and information studies programs in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom have been initiated into Beta Phi Mu.
