TWU to host workshop for Alzheimer’s caregivers

DENTON — The Texas Woman’s University School of Occupational Therapy will host a workshop designed for those caring for Alzheimer’s patients Saturday, Nov. 7 in Denton.

Registration for the event begins at 8 a.m. on the second floor of the Administration Conference Tower (ACT), located on Administration Drive.  The registration fee, which includes lunch, is $29 for family caregivers (including CNAs, home health aides and family members) and $59 for professional caregivers.  To register, or for more information, visit www.twu.edu/ce/Alzheimers-Dementia.asp.

Titled “Creating Moments of Joy for the Person with Alzheimer’s or Dementia,” the workshop will focus on helping caregivers design a familiar environment; develop an individual program that defines a holistic approach; and enable a person with Alzheimer’s to function as independently as possible.  Guest speaker is Jolene Brackey, conference speaker and owner of Enhanced Moments.
