Chair of Women’s Campaign International to visit TWU

DENTON —
Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky, co-founder and chair of Women’s
Campaign International and a senior lecturer at The Fels Institute
of Government at the University of Pennsylvania, will visit
Texas Woman’s University April 8 to 11 as a Woodrow
Wilson Visiting Fellow.
She will discuss
“Getting Women to the Table: Gender and Politics”
at 3 p.m. April 10 in room 301 of the Administration Conference
Tower (ACT) on TWU’s Denton campus. The lecture is free

During her visit
to TWU, Ms. Margolies-Mezvinsky also will give presentations
to classes, participate in seminars and visit with individual
students and faculty members.
In 1992, Ms. Margolies-Mezvinsky
became the first woman elected to the U.S. Congress from Pennsylvania,
representing the state’s 13th district in the 103rd
Congress. She served as chair of the National Women’s
Business Council and led the United States’ delegation
to the United Nations’ Fourth World Conference on Women
in 1995.
She also has served
as president of the Women’s Campaign Fund and the Women’s
Campaign Research Fund, the nation’s oldest and largest
nonpartisan political action committee supporting progressive
women candidates running for public office at all levels of
government.
The Woodrow Wilson
National Fellowship Foundation has developed and conducted
programs in higher education since 1945. For 35 years, the
Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellows have been introducing students
and faculty at liberal arts colleges to a wide range of perspectives
