TWU forum to focus on U.S. – China trade relations

DENTON — The complex and multifaceted economic ties between the United States and China is the focus of a public affairs forum scheduled Tuesday, March 25 at Texas Woman’s University.
“Eagle and Dragon: Evolving Trade Relations between China and the U.S.,” is scheduled at 1 p.m. in room 202 of the Classroom and Faculty Office Building (CFO). Guest speakers for the event are Yao Wenliang, director of commerce for the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Houston; James Chen, executive regional director-Asia/Pacific, Economic Development and Tourism Division, Office of the Governor, Austin; and Dr. Anil Kumar, senior economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
Mr. Wenliang will talk about U.S.-China relations from cultural and business perspectives. Mr. Chen will give a presentation about China-Texas trade relations, and Dr. Kumar will approach the relationship between China and the United States from the federal government policy perspective.
The forum is presented by the TWU College of Arts and Sciences.
