TWU presents “The Ultimate Culinary Adventure” April 15

3/20/08

DENTON — Texas Woman’s University invites the community to join award-winning cookbook authors Cheryl and Bill Jamison for “The Ultimate Culinary Adventure” on April 15 at 11:30 a.m. in the Blagg-Huey Library on TWU’s Denton Campus.

The event includes a lecture and discussion on the Jamisons’ latest cookbook, “Around the World in 80 Dinners: The Ultimate Culinary Adventure;” a tasting reception with samples from the Jamisons’ cookbooks; and a book signing. The Jamisons’ cookbooks and duplicate books and recipe leaflets from TWU’s celebrated cookbook collection also will be available for purchase.

Tickets are $40 per person and reservations are required by April 7. For information or reservations, call (940) 898-3748 or visit www.twu.edu/library. Proceeds will benefit the Friends of the TWU Libraries. For information on sponsorship opportunities, contact Carolyn Ishee at (940) 898-3869 or cishee@twu.edu.

Members of the Advisory Board for the event are Betty Alford, Jane Boyle, Jo Cassell, Valerie Clegg (The Chestnut Tree), Helen Crumpacker, Sharon Draper, Martha Len Nelson and Chris and Curtis Wells (The Classic Café).

The Jamisons, whose daughter Heather is a TWU alumna, are the authors of more than a dozen cookbooks and travel guides. They have received four James Beard Awards and have numerous other honors to their credit. Their recent cookbooks include “The Big Book of Outdoor Cooking and Entertaining;” “Good Times, Good Grilling;” “Chicken on the Grill;” “A Real American Breakfast;” and the revised and expanded version of their landmark “Smoke & Spice” — one of the best-selling cookbooks of the last decade. The Jamisons appear regularly on TV and are frequent contributors to magazines like Cooking Light and Bon Appetit. They live near Sante Fe, NM.
