TWU’s McCullar named 2008 G. Ann Uhlir Fellow
4/29/08
DENTON — Kelly McCullar, associate vice president and controller for Texas Woman’s University, has been named the 2008 G. Ann Uhlir Fellow in Higher Education Administration. He is the first staff member to win the award, which is available to TWU faculty, staff and graduate students.
Mr. McCullar will use his fellowship to attend the Western Association of College and University Business Officers’ Executive Leadership & Management Institute scheduled Aug. 1-8 at Stanford University. The primary goals of the institute are increasing the self-awareness of administrators as leaders; improving skills in strategic thinking and effective action; and establishing an enduring network for support and commitment to continuing professional development.
The Dr. G. Ann Uhlir Endowed Fellowship for Higher Education Administration is designed to take beginning administrators, faculty or students interested in administration and help them develop the leadership, management and interpersonal skills needed to be a highly qualified and successful academic administrator. The late Dr. Ann Uhlir, founding dean of the TWU College of Health Sciences, provided initial funding for the fellowship in 1996.
