TWU to host Vanderkooi
Endowed Lectureship Feb. 9-10 in Dallas

DALLAS
— Maintaining enthusiasm for the work of an occupational
therapist is the focus of the 2007 Vanderkooi Endowed Lectureship,
scheduled Feb. 9 and 10 in Texas Woman’s University’s
Presbyterian center, 8194 Walnut Hill Lane in Dallas.
Registration
for the event ranges from $99 to $149. A complimentary lunch
will be served Friday, Feb. 9. The cost of lunch on Saturday,
Feb. 10 is $7. For more information or to register, visit

Dr.
Wendy Wood, an associate professor in the University of New
Mexico-Albuquerque Occupational Therapy Graduate Program,
will present the keynote address at 10 a.m. Friday. Her address,
titled “To Have a Firm Persuasion in Our Work,”
will present personal and professional stories of occupational
therapists with longstanding careers.
A
total of 21 additional education sessions relevant to school,
clinic and community-based practice also will be offered during
the lectureship. Participants may earn up to 1.20 continuing
education units (CEUs).
The
endowed lectureship was established in 1993 to recognize Fanny
B. Vanderkooi, the first chair of TWU’s occupational
therapy program.
