TWU sets record for spring semester enrollment
2/01/07
DENTON –
Texas Woman’s University has set a record for spring
semester student enrollment and semester credit hours, according
to preliminary 12th class day data released today.
Enrollment for
spring 2007 is 11,263 students, up 5.5 percent from spring
2006. Most importantly, spring 2007 semester credit hours
total 110,230, a 6.4 percent increase from last spring. Student
credit hours, not headcount, determine a university’s
state funding.
TWU’s previous
spring semester enrollment record was set in 2006, when enrollment
was 10,671 students and semester credit hours totaled 103,623.
Undergraduate enrollment
this spring increased to 6,320 students, a 6.8 percent increase
from spring 2006. Graduate enrollment grew 4 percent to 4,943.
All numbers are
based on 12th class day data issued by TWU’s Office
of Institutional Research. Official spring 2007 enrollment
figures will be available in April.
