TWU dance department presents KidsDance, DanceMakers
DENTON — The Texas Woman’s University Department of Dance has scheduled events for all ages, from KidsDance to the fall DanceMakers concert.
Second-graders in the Denton Independent School District will be treated to demonstrations and discussions of dance during “KidsDance: Rhythms for Life” Thursday and Friday, Nov. 15 and 16. Sessions on both days begin at 10 a.m. in the Margo Jones Performance Hall, located at Pioneer Circle and Oakland Avenue on TWU’s Denton campus. KidsDance is a partnership project of TWU, the Denton ISD and the Greater Denton Arts Council. The KidsDance project is made possible with the support of the GDAC, the Arts Guild of Denton, the Texas Commission on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. Mary Williford-Shade, TWU professor of dance, will direct the presentation.
TWU’s fall DanceMakers concert will feature a diverse range of choreographic visions. Performances are scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 and at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16 and 17. Tickets, which are available at the door, are $8 for general admission, $6 for students and seniors and $4 for TWU students.
