TWU schedules
Project Gateway information sessions in Denton, Dallas

— Information sessions about Project Gateway —
a Texas Woman’s University/Dallas Independent School
District partnership that places new teachers in high-need
secondary schools — are scheduled Feb. 14 and 15 for
individuals seeking admission for the upcoming intensive summer
training. Students
in this group will be placed in Dallas ISD schools in August
2007.
The
first session is scheduled at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, in
room 301 of the Administrative Conference Tower (ACT), located
on Administration Drive on TWU’s Denton campus. The
second session is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15
in room 326 of the Universities Center at Dallas, 1901 Main
St., Suite 107. To register for either information session,

Project
Gateway is a No Child Left Behind grant program that offers
scholarships to eligible candidates with a bachelor’s
degree who are seeking first-time teacher certification. The
program focuses on preparing bilingual teachers for elementary
schools and mathematics teachers for secondary classrooms.
Grant recipients participate in TWU’s Master of Arts
in Teaching (MAT) and commit to serving as Dallas ISD teachers
for at least three years.
