TWU schedules winter commencement

DENTON — The fall 2007 semester at Texas Woman’s University will draw to a close Saturday, Dec. 15, with commencement ceremonies scheduled for 9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. on TWU’s Denton campus.
Students and family members who have tickets are invited to attend. The ceremonies, which include graduates from the Denton and Dallas campuses, will take place in the Kitty Magee Arena in Pioneer Hall, located on Bell Avenue. Receptions hosted by TWU Chancellor Dr. Ann Stuart will follow each ceremony on the second floor of the Student Union, located on the southwest corner of Bell Avenue and Administration Drive.
The 9 a.m. ceremony is for candidates in the College of Arts and Sciences. Ms. Alann B. Sampson, chair of the Van Cliburn Foundation, will deliver the commencement address for the 9 a.m. ceremony.
The noon ceremony is for candidates in the College of Professional Education and the Department of Psychology. Dr. Antonio Flores, president and CEO for the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is the speaker for the ceremony.
The 3 p.m. ceremony is for candidates in the College of Health Science and the College of Nursing. Ms. Sheila Whitaker-Kellagher, president of TruCare Solutions, Inc. of Dallas and a Distinguished Alum of TWU, is the speaker for the ceremony.
TWU’s Houston commencement will take place at 2 p.m. Dec. 16 in the Arabia Shrine Center, 2900 N. Braeswood Blvd. Ms. Cynthia Newkam Harper, a TWU graduate and member of the TWU Foundation Board, will deliver the commencement address.
Chancellor Stuart will preside at each ceremony.
