TWU to host Administrators’
Back-to-School Day Feb. 9

— Texas Woman’s University will continue its celebration
of 100 years of teacher education with an “Administrators’
Back-to-School Day” scheduled Friday, Feb. 9. Dr. Karen
Holt, a National Distinguished Principal of Texas, is the
keynote speaker for the event.
The
workshop will take place in the Administration Conference
Tower (ACT), located on Administration Drive on TWU’s
Denton campus. Check-in will begin at 8 a.m. in the second-floor
lobby area. Registration costs through Friday, Jan. 26 are
$89 for school administrators and $19 for university students.
Regular registration is $109 for school administrators and
$29 for university students, and on-site registration is $129
for school administrators. Costs include a CEU certificate,
continental breakfast, lunch and networking opportunities.

Dr.
Holt has served as principal of South Houston Elementary for
the past 17 years and has taught at St. Thomas University
and the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She earned her Ed.D.
in administration from Teachers College, Columbia University.
She has been a Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors
Association District IV officer for nine years. Her many awards
include being named Texas Elementary Principal of the Year
for District IV, Texas School Business Educator of the Month
and the South Houston Chamber of Commerce Educator’s
Award of Excellence.
All
workshop participants will receive six clock hours (.6 CEUs)
from Texas Woman’s University. The continuing education
credits will be accepted by the Texas State Board for Educator
Certification and the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional
Counselors.
