May 29, 2007 -
DENTON — Texas Woman’s University’s Little
Chapel-in-the-Woods will be filled with the sounds of rumbas
and tangos as TWU’s guitar quartet presents “An
Evening in Argentina.” The
concert, which is free and open to the public, will begin
at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, in the chapel, located on TWU’s
Denton campus. For more information, call (940) 898-2500.
The concert originally
was scheduled April 24, but was postponed due to flooding
conditions that day.
The guitar quartet
is comprised of Carlo Pezzimenti, an adjunct assistant professor
of music, and Pedro Haley, Brian Rowe and Aaron Cotton, all
TWU students or graduates. Arturo Osorio, a TWU student, will
join the quartet on flute.
The concert will
include pieces by Argentinean composers Alberto Ginastera,
Maximo Diego Pujol and Astor Piazzola, and Mexican composer
Ernesto Garcia de Leon.
