TWU to host forum on history of Iran-America conflict

DENTON — The recent escalation of tensions between Iran and the United States will be viewed in historical context during a public affairs forum presented by the Texas Woman’s University College of Arts and Sciences.

The forum is scheduled from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 in room 203 of the Classroom Faculty Office (CFO) Building on TWU’s Denton campus.  For a map of the campus, visit www.twu.edu/maps.asp.  The event is free and open to the public.  For more information, call (940) 898-3326.

The speaker for the event is Dr. Mahmoud Sadri, professor of sociology at TWU.  Dr. Sadri will provide perspectives of political theory, sociology and history in exploring the roots of the conflict, the prospects of de-escalation of hostilities and scenarios for diplomatic engagement.

The TWU College of Arts & Sciences Public Affairs Forum is an ongoing series of lectures and discussions of issues of public interest.  Sessions are held each fall and spring semester.
