DENTON — Information sessions about Project Gateway — a Texas Woman’s University/Dallas Independent School District partnership that places new teachers in high-need schools — are scheduled Nov. 7 and 8 for individuals seeking admission for spring 2008.

The first session is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, in the Dallas ISD Central Office Board Room, 3700 Ross Ave. in Dallas.  The second session is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 in room 301 of the Administration Conference Tower (ACT), 304 Administration Drive in Denton.  To register for either information session, call (940) 898-2217 or email gateway@mail.twu.edu.  For more information on Project Gateway, visit www.twu.edu/gateway.

Project Gateway is a No Child Left Behind grant program that provides scholarships to eligible candidates with a bachelor’s degree who are seeking first-time teacher certification.  The program focuses on preparing bilingual or mathematics teachers.  Grant recipients participate in TWU’s Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) and commit to serving as Dallas ISD teachers for at least three years.
