TWU sets record
for spring semester enrollment
2/2/06
DENTON —
Texas Woman’s University has set a record for spring
semester student enrollment and semester credit hours according
to preliminary 12th class day data released today.
Enrollment for
spring 2006 is 10,687 students, up 3.8 percent from spring
2005. Most importantly, spring 2006 semester credit hours
total 103,975, a 3.8 percent increase from last spring. Student
credit hours, not headcount, determine the university’s
state funding.
TWU’s previous
spring semester enrollment record was set in spring 2005,
when enrollment was 10,300 students and 100,168 semester credit
hours.
Enrollment at the
Denton campus is 8,545 students, up from 8,110 in spring 2005.
Enrollment at the Dallas centers is 938 students and Houston
center enrollment is 1,204.
Undergraduate enrollment
this spring increased to 5,917 students, a 4.9 percent increase
from spring 2005. Graduate enrollment grew 2.3 percent to
4,770.
All numbers are
based on 12th class day data issued by TWU’s Office
of Institutional Research. Official spring 2006 enrollment
figures will be available in April.
