A lesson on love is in store as the Texas Woman’s University
Department of Drama presents Carlos Goldoni’s “Mirandolina,
Mistress of the Inn” April 20-22 on TWU’s Denton
campus.

scheduled for 8 p.m. Thursday, April 20 through Saturday,
April 22 in the Atrium Theatre, located in the Patio Building
at Oakland and Third streets.Tickets

The play’s
namesake is a young woman who runs the inn she inherited from
her father. Guests at the inn include the Marquis of Forlipopopoli
and the Count of Albafafioritita, two clumsy noblemen who
seek to win Mirandolina’s heart. A third guest, the
Baron of Ripafrattata, is an avowed woman-hater who wants
nothing to do with Mirandolina. Viewing this as a challenge,
Mirandolina is determined to make the baron fall in love with
her. Her success only complicates matters further.
The cast includes
Lindsay Turman (Lamesa) as Mirandolina, Tom Stratton (Denton)
as Ripafratta, Josh Hancock (Kilgore) as the Marquis, Brad
MacEntire (Carrollton) as the Count, Chris Becher (Denton)
as Fabrizio, Erica Cole (Denton) as Ortensia, and Annie Anderson
(Fort Worth), Tarah Blasi (Wichita Falls) and Kelly Davis
(Iadlou) as the three servants.
Director Jaymes
Gregory (Haltom City) also serves as set designer for the
production. Costumes are designed by Amber Devlin, with lighting
by Nic Carbonero and sound design by Erica Cole and Sally
Shepard.
