TWU Opera Ensemble presents Le Nozze di Figaro

Mischief, mayhem and marriage go hand in hand as the Texas
Woman’s University Opera Ensemble presents Le Nozze
di Figaro (“The Marriage of Figaro”) at 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday and Thursday, May 3 and 4. The performance, which
will be presented in Italian with English supertitles, will
take place in the Margo Jones Performance Hall, located at
Oakland and Sawyer streets on TWU’s Denton campus. Admission

The comic opera
begins with preparations for the wedding of Figaro, a valet,
and Susanna, a chambermaid. Figaro is outraged to learn that
their employer, Count Almaviva, has designs on Susanna, and
plots to outwit his master.
The show is double
cast, with cast members including: James D. Rodriguez of Fort
Worth as Figaro; Megan Varvir Coe of Carrollton as Susanna;
Vanessa Guzman of Laredo as Susanna; Brandon Martinez of Fort
Worth as the Count; Jennifer Wintle of Denton as the Countess;
and Susan Shirel of Evansville, Ind., as the Countess.
The TWU Opera Ensemble
is under the direction of Wendy Lee Tedmon.
