Jennifer Keller to perform at TWU
09/08/06
DENTON —
Jennifer Keller, a dancer/choreographer who served as a guest
artist at Texas Woman’s University in 2000 and 2003,
returns to the university Wednesday, Sept. 13, to present
an evening of dance titled, “Pivotal Movements.”
The event is scheduled
for 5 p.m. in the Dance Studio Theatre in TWU’s Dance
Building, located on the northeast corner of Bell Avenue and
Administration Drive on the university’s Denton campus.
Admission is free. For more information, call (940) 898-2086.
“I’m
excited to be returning to TWU and sharing work with a new
audience,” Ms. Keller said. “It’s a stimulating
environment that I’m certain will inspire me to grow.”
Based in Slippery
Rock, Pa., Ms. Keller has spent the past several years developing
solo and duet repertory, drawing on her influences of technology,
improvisation, contact improvisation, and her experiences
as an eight-year company member of Mark Taylor and Friends
in New York City and the Dance Alloy of Pittsburgh.
Her performance
at TWU will showcase four solos, including two commissioned
by acclaimed choreographers Jeanine Durning of New York City
and Nina Martin of Marfa. Completing the program are two of
Ms. Keller’s own solos that highlight both her speed
and athletic movement style.
