TWU offers health
screenings to the community
Texas Woman’s University’s Student Health Services
will begin its focus on health in 2006 by offering free HIV
testing and low-cost mammograms. The health screenings are
available to the Denton area community.

The free HIV testing
will be conducted from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. beginning Jan.
18 and continuing at the same time each Wednesday through
May 3. Walk-ins are welcome, though appointments are preferred.
Each test includes an educational session that will last approximately
one hour. Test results will be available at the end of each
individual’s session. Testing will be conducted by ExHALE
Services of MHMR Tarrant County and will take place at TWU’s
Student Health Services, located on Administration Drive on
the Denton campus. To schedule an appointment, or for more

The Methodist Health
System’s Mobile Mammography Unit will be in TWU’s
visitor’s parking lot, located on the northwest corner
of Bell Avenue and Administration Drive, from 9:30 a.m. to
3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7. To qualify for a mammogram, you
must be 35 years of age or older with no breast implants nor
any current breast problems.
The cost for the
mammogram is $90. All major insurance claims will be filed,
including Medicare and Medicaid. Payment of $98 is required
for those not filing insurance. To schedule an appointment,
