TWU-Houston’s Health Care Administration program is
13th largest in the nation
12/08/06
HOUSTON –
The master of health care administration program at Texas
Woman’s University’s Institute of Health Sciences-Houston
Center is the 13th largest in the nation, according to Modern
Healthcare magazine. The rankings were reported in the magazine’s
Nov. 6 edition.
Dr. Kelley Moseley,
professor and director of TWU-Houston’s health care
administration program, credits the ranking to the quality
of the program, the faculty and the students themselves.
“We’re
a practice-based program that attracts working healthcare
professionals, as well as those without health care experience,
who can benefit from the networking opportunities of fellow
students working in health care,” Dr. Moseley said.
Dr. Moseley also
cites the program’s accreditation, location within the
Texas Medical Center, close affiliation with Houston hospitals
and its relationship with the American College of Healthcare
Executives professional association as reasons for attracting
students.
Dr. Jimmy H. Ishee,
dean of the College of Health Sciences, said, “One of
the goals in TWU’s strategic plan addresses national
recognition of programs. This ranking is an excellent example
of how the health care administration program in Houston is
achieving that goal for the College of Health Sciences.”
TWU-Houston’s
master of health care administration program, accredited by
the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education
(CAHME), prepares working professionals for management positions
and leadership roles in the healthcare industry by offering
a comprehensive, rigorous curriculum. For more information,
