TWU’s Gamblin, Williford-Shade to perform at Fort Worth
Dance Festival

FORT WORTH —
Texas Woman’s University assistant dance professor Sarah
Gamblin and associate professor of dance Mary Williford-Shade
will perform during “Out of Bounds,” the second
annual Fort Worth Dance Festival, beginning Friday, Oct. 6
at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 1300 Gendy St. in
the heart of Fort Worth’s Cultural District.
Ms. Gamblin will
appear during the first weekend performances, scheduled at
8 p.m. Oct. 6-7 and 2 p.m. Oct. 9. Ms. Williford-Shade will
perform with her repertory company, Lacy & Shade, during
the second set of performances scheduled for 8 p.m. Oct. 13-14
and 2 p.m. Oct. 15. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased by

Ms. Gamblin is
a former member of the Bessie Award-winning Bebe Miller Company
of New York City. She has toured various cities in South Africa,
Portugal, Russia, Peru, Venezuela and the United States. She
performed with the Chamber Dance Company, Rob Kitsos and Lingo
dancetheater in Seattle prior to joining the TWU faculty in
2002.
Ms. Williford-Shade
made her mark on the dance scene with Mark Taylor & Friends
in New York City. She and Sandra Lacy later formed Lacy &
Shade, a solo-duet repertory company that commissions works
by such choreographers as Irene Hultman, Lisa Race, Mark Taylor
and more. In addition to her solo and duet work, Ms. Williford-Shade
has performed with Mark Dendy, Maryland Dance Theater and
Dance Alloy of Pittsburgh.
