TWU to host 27th annual International Festival

DENTON —
Food, fashion and dancing are featured in Texas Woman’s
University’s International Festival, an annual event
celebrating the diversity of the TWU community.
The event will
be held Friday, Nov. 4 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. in Hubbard Hall,
located on Administration Drive on TWU’s Denton campus.
Tickets are $7 for the public and $5 for TWU students. For
more information, contact Gladys Keeton, artistic director
of the TWU International Folk Dance Company, at (940) 898-2088
or the TWU Office of International Education at (940) 898-3338.
The event will
include an international meal, ethnic fashion shows and performances
by the TWU International Folk Dance Company and international
students. Dances will be representative of India, Ireland,
Mexico, Russia and Spain. TWU graduate and undergraduate dance
majors who are international students or who have in-depth
knowledge and skills in selected dance styles have choreographed
a majority of the dances.
Members of TWU’s
International Folk Dance Company are Jesse Alton, Jessica
Baker, Karal Canamar, Genevive Garcia, Sonja Soto Howard,
Adele Jones, Nadia Losonsky, Zara Nausheen Masab, Stephanie
Ozuna, Lillian Sanchez, Natalie Steward, Rubi Trevino and
Claudia Vera.
