Science and Mathematics
Center Director and TWU Senior Lecturer Cathy Banks started
the ACES camp 18 years ago.
“I wanted
an avenue to encourage girls at the junior-high-school level
to become interested in math and science and eventually pursue
degrees and careers in these disciplines,” Banks said.
The camp has had
937 participants since it began in the summer of 1988.
