Seven TWU Students Receive
Good Neighbor Scholarships

DENTON — Seven
international students at Texas Woman’s University have received
Good Neighbor Scholarships for the 2004-2005 academic year. They
are:
- Scott Benjamin from
Trinidad and Tobago, an undergraduate biology major;
- Nola Smith from Trinidad
and Tobago, an undergraduate nursing major;
- Angie Galvis from
Colombia, a graduate student majoring in occupation therapy;
- Nadia Mills from Canada,
a graduate student majoring in physical therapy;
- Sonia Gibbs from Barbados,
an executive master’s in business administration major;
- Ainsley Bulgin from
Jamaica, an undergraduate nursing major, and
- Gregoria Bustillos
from Peru, an undergraduate student majoring in interdisciplinary
studies.
The Good Neighbor Scholarship
Program, administered by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating
Board, pays the tuition costs of scholarship recipients for an entire
academic year.
The Good Neighbor Scholarship
Program is open to international students who are citizens of countries
in the Western Hemisphere, except Cuba. The student must intend
to return to his or her native country upon completion of his or
her degree.
Students also must be
attending or be eligible to attend public colleges or universities
in the state of Texas to receive the scholarship. Students who are
permanent residents of the United States, or who have refugee status,
are not eligible for the program.
Undergraduate students
must have a 2.0 or better grade-point-average, and graduate students
must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
