Texas Woman’s University receives $5,500 grant from Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation for Project INVEST — 7/28/14

DENTON – Texas Woman's University is proud to announce that it has received a $5,500 Quality of Life grant from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. The award was one of 73 grants totaling over $537,550 awarded by the Reeve Foundation to nonprofit organizations nationwide that provide more opportunities, access, and daily quality of life for individuals living with paralysis, their families and caregivers. Conceived by the late Dana Reeve, the program has awarded 2,380 grants totaling over $17.6 million since 1999.

Anita Hufft named dean of TWU’s College of Nursing — 7/25/14

DENTON/DALLAS/HOUSTON — Texas Woman’s University has named Dr. Anita Hufft as the new dean of the TWU College of Nursing for the university’s Denton, Dallas and Houston campuses. A TWU alumna, Dr. Hufft previously served as dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences for Valdosta State University in Georgia. She began her duties at TWU July 15.

DENTON – Texas Woman’s University is participating in The OpEd Project’s 2014 Public Voices Thought Leadership program, a national initiative to increase the number of women contributing to newspaper opinion columns, television and radio talk shows and other key commentary forums traditionally dominated by men. According to the project’s website, only 20 percent of opinion pieces in the media are written by women.
