Pioneer Woman Statue

The 15-foot-tall statue, made of Georgian white marble, was sculpted by New York City artist Leo Friedlander during a three-year period at a cost of $25,000. It was unveiled at TWU in 1938 in honor of the Texas Centennial. It stands as a tribute to spirit of pioneer women of Texas.
