Terry Foundation Scholarships
Due to the weather North Texas recently experienced, which caused major setbacks that included delays in SAT testing, school and university closures, we have decided to extend the application deadline to Tuesday January 21, 2014.
The Terry Foundation is a Houston-based organization founded to provide scholarships to outstanding Texas High school graduates for attendance at public universities within the state. Established in 1986 by Houston philanthropists Howard and Nancy Terry, the Foundation has assisted hundreds of Terry Scholars in meeting the Founders' goal of helping young people to help themselves.
Texas Woman’s University is proud to offer the Terry Scholars program beginning in fall 2013. This scholarship provides incoming, first year students the opportunity to not only receive a scholarship, but also provides academic, cultural, social and leadership opportunities and support throughout the college experience.
The award amount is determined annually based on the cost of attendance here at TWU, including tuition, fees, books, on-campus housing, meal plan and personal expenses. The specific amount of the award will vary for each scholar, depending on other scholarship awards and the ability of the scholar's family to contibute to the cost of college. Taking into acount other scholarships, the student's and parent's financial resources the Foundation provides assistance to cover up to the total cost of attendance for four years.
