Profile
Prior to joining Texas Woman’s University in August 2007, Dr. Mutchler had worked in three different education arenas: state government (the Division of Accountability Research at the Texas Education Agency); education research and development (Southwest Educational Development Laboratory, Austin, Texas); and public school education (elementary teaching and assistant principalship in Wisconsin, Mississippi, and Texas).
Dr. Mutchler teaches the ELDR courses, Educational Foundations and Administrative Implications and Research in Education. She also guides students as they develop and carry out action research projects for their Professional Papers. Her scholarly interests include equity and adequacy in public education, leadership for social justice, policy development and implementation, organizational theory and development, and deliberative democracy. She is a member of the American Association of University Women, the American Educational Research Association, Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society in Education, National Society for the Study of Education, and Pi Lambda Theta International Honor Society and Professional Association in Education. She also has been an active participant in the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA).
